Terri and Andy had Rick, the Bobcat man, digging out their basement. Jim was up checking out the progress of Terri and Andy’s house. He came back down the street with an idea…let’s do our driveway! What? We haven’t done a home improvement project since we left for Hong Kong.

We have talked about the driveway for years. The sun rays reflect on the concrete and weathers the paint on that side of the house. Hum, to do the driveway, the first thing we needed to do was move all the bricks and rocks piled on the concrete. I didn’t think of getting a “before photo”, but I had this photo from the pumpkin patch planting with Papa. We had to move the two wire bins full of rocks and the pile of bricks (behind Emmy). Jim started the job and I finished it. Who needs a gym when you are doing home improvement jobs!

Just like old times – Jim’s Dad came down to help. He worked everyday on the house project 17 years ago. Jim had comment that his Dad was a big help. He may be 17 years older, but he still knows what needs to be done. He hauled and handed bricks to Jim saving him the effort of getting up and down all day long. Eleri was always out “inspecting” the progress.

The final driveway done…well sort-of. The area by the fireplace didn’t get done according to the plans in Jim’s head. One day in the far future it will all be done!!
