Mother’s Day started with breakfast in bed made by Jim and Eleri. Emersyn, our teen, was still sleeping!
Friends were organizing a brunch for Mother’s Day at the Westin. The Westin is a big, fancy brunch. When we first arrived, it was a good deal for all you can eat and drink. The good deal is no longer available. For our family of four to attend the Westin brunch, the cost would be 2, 170rmb ($355). We decided to keep to our tradition of Din Tai Fung dumpling for Mother’s Day.
We took photos before we left on our deck…because soon we won’t have this great view!
Din Tai Fung is located in the World Finance Center (WFC). You can tour the 100th floor of the WFC. Emersyn and I did a school field trip when Emnersyn was in the 4th grade. Eleri and Jim had not been to the top. We decided IF the lines were short, we would add this to our day. The Pearl Tower was an option, too. I have been to the top with Terri, but Jim, Emersyn and Eleri have not.
The lines were short when we arrived around 11:30am. It cost 570rmb (180 for adult price, 120 for student/Emersyn and 90 for children/Eleri).
To the top, it is 435 meters.
Enjoying the view.
That is our deck with the table in the middle.
Yanlord – our building is the first one on the left.
By the time we left the top floor, we were hungry. We went to the 3rd floor for dumplings. We ate all our favourites for happy tummies!
My favourite soup of hot and sour.
Emersyn’s favorite soup with shrimp dumplings she gave to Eleri.
Eleri’s favorite beans.
Jim’s favorite spicy shrimp dumplings.
Everyone’s favourite dumplings with soup in the middle.
A few people photos to go with the food photos!
Time to go home for Emersyn to study…finals are fast approaching! A lovely day spent with my wonderful family!
