We have never been in Shanghai on New Year’s Eve. Friends, Rachael and Mike, invited us to a party they were attending.
Jim went to work while the Lyon ladies slept in since we are all tired from the night flight from Male. When I woke up, Roxi was looking guilty, but I didn’t know why. When the girls woke up and we began to clean up Christmas from yesterday, we noticed Roxi had eaten the chocolates from Santa…hum, that was the guilt. She seemed fine so I began making cupcakes for the party tonight. Jim calls and says she needs to vomit the chocolate out of her system. I pull my cupcakes from the oven to take Roxi outside to feed her a 50% water/50% peroxide mixture. It takes about 15 minutes when she begins to empty her tummy. First is the mac & cheese she stole from the rubbish bin – I didn’t notice she had taken it. Then, the chocolate mix…mission complete! I finish my cupcakes as the afternoon was getting away from me.
The girls looked adorable to start the New Year with friends.
It was a fun group of Concordia parents. We made it to midnight only because Emersyn didn’t want to leave early. We were still fighting jet lag from the time zone as the Maldives is three hours ahead and the night flight of little sleep.
When we came back to Lujiazui after midnight, the streets were packed. There were fireworks by the river. Based on the number of people, they must of have been good ones.
The year 2014 may be a year of changes for the Lyon Family!
