Pink is the name Eleri has given her little pink blanket. She got it when she was born from the Texas cousins, Mac & Pat. Pink is the one item she sleeps with every night. Pink at one time was fuzzy on one side and silk on the other. Now, Pink has been repaired by Aunt Nancy so many times I am not sure there is any original material left on Pink. When Elle was baby, she peeled the fuzzy side off when it started to rip. Aunt Nancy repaired the fuzzy side with a replacement silk.
Pink is VERY special. We no longer allow Pink to travel on Holidays with us. Eleri now has substitute Pinks (the name she gave them). Over the summer, Aunt Nancy and Elle made a new blanket. She named this new blanket, Spotty Pink (but there is no pink on it as it is white and black).
Elle sleeps with a whole bed full of animals. They all wait at the bottom to see who gets to sleep with her and Pink. This is what the bottom of Elle’s bed looks like. Good thing she is short and her sleepmates can take up the bottom half of the bed.
A couple of her favorite sleep buddies that have a funny story are Rabbit and No Name. Rabbit she picked out in Nebraska when she was 3. I had wanted to wait to buy YET another stuffed animals to see if she lost interested. But, she said, “no, I want Rabbit”. Rabbit has since been a part of the favorite animal group that is always on her bed. No Name was a Christmas mishap. Santa had given Eleri a robot dog that didn’t do much but bark. We worked out the details with Santa to take it back and she could pick out another dog. She picked out this dog which cost about $7 compared to the Santa robot dog of $30. She was happy with this fluffy dog that didn’t do anything. We asked the name of her new dog and she said No Name. No Name is still his name.
And, this is what Emersyn’s bed looks like.
