There was no time to build last night after receiving Santa’s Lego gift. Eleri was up early and ready to begin the next day. The girls have no school on this Monday – a day to unpack from our trip. A day for Eleri to build.
She took out all the parts and the books to her expert, age 16+ Lego set. There are many bags of lego parts and three different books to build the 3-story house/shop.
It took her all day with a break to watch a movie to give her mind a rest! But, she was determine to finish the project today.
The little orange tool Eleri is holding – a very valuable tool. It is used to take pieces apart. Some of these Lego parts are very small. In the past, I have used tweezers to get them apart. I had purchased one that was in her stocking, but this one came with her set – more needed with even smaller parts!
Eleri also adds her own touches to improve the house. The fire coming out of the chimney was added by Eleri. She added the bottom parts to the lantern hanging to make them look better. There are always spare parts in all lego kits.
Eleri also moved the doors, not following the instructions, as the glass door was better for the bakery and the white door went better with the white trim on the second floor. She informed me all the doors are the same size. Yes, she is her father!
Eleri loves the detail given to these lego sets.
Now that she has done age 16+, she won’t want to go back. She is very proud of her house/shop. This next semester in school is Lego robotics – Eleri is excited!
