Lately, the blog has been “All about Elle”. It reflects one child is in early learning while the other is not. Eleri’s school days are full of fun activities.
On this day, Eleri’s class began with an Invertebrate Showcase at 8:15am. As Room Mom, I had to be at school later in the afternoon to host the Easter Party, therefore, Jim went to school to see Eleri’s showcase.
Eleri had taken “supplies” to school to make her worm display. She was very excited to show her work to Dad.
At 1:30, Nani, my co-room Mom, and I began the Easter party with an egg hunt outside. It was a beautiful day in Shanghai with rain hanging on the horizon. Eleri and Emersyn had helped me prepare four eggs for each child in the class. The eggs were filled with candy, stickers and erasers!
After the egg hunt, the children went back upstairs to their classroom for Easter treats. Since Emersyn is a middle schooler, she had no party. I did make Easter cupcakes for their class to enjoy.
Next, the children decorated foam eggs I found at YuGardens. I bought all kinds of sparkles to decorate the eggs. The children were funny as most of the children put very few sparkles on their eggs and made faces. I had purchased plenty of sparkles as I expected the opposite.
The last activity of the party was my favorite. Nani had purchased different eggs at the wet market. They varied in size and color. Nani had the children guess what bird would produce each egg. Next, she cracked them all open to see the insides. The eggs varied in color, yoke and clarity. It was very interesting and educational!
