I spent my birthday in Hong Kong on the way back from our Malaysian holiday.  I had a great day with my daughters, as Brenda was off shopping at Stanley Market.

While we live in the land of bicycles, we have not been able to find bikes with “coaster” brakes in China.  They all have hand brakes, which for our kids, are a non-stopper!  So the girls and I went to the “Friendly Bike Shop” in Hong Kong to get the girls bikes on MY birthday.  They were packed as luggage back to Shanghai – part of our 8 bags!  We still do not travel light.

We put off a family celebration for a week so we could make the family favorite chocolate cake.  This time, we were fortunate to find the right ingredients.  And, yes, we did clear the shelves of all two cans of cocoa at the store to horde for future baking.
