Jim and I did a flower run today. We went to the outside flower/plant market which is similar to going to 50 small nurseries all in one spot. We needed new plants to replace the ones that died over the winter – some plants that didn’t like the cold on the 29th floor along with some strong winter winds. We purchased 5 small bushes at a cost of 4rmb ($0.58) each. Next we picked out 2 flats of flowers for 12rmb ($1.75) in total. After purchasing some expensive rosemary for 20rmb ($2.90) and a few more flowers, our total bill for the day was 87rmb ($12.80). I think in the US, the 87rmb would be $87. Our deck looks great and is ready for us to enjoy the view!

When we got home, Jim put his gardeners to work. One was busy planting and one was busy with the water. A year ago when we planted our deck with flowers, we had the same grey day. It makes for interesting photos with color and an appearance of black/white background.
