Halloween night fell on a Friday night this year. Our friends, Rachael and Mike, was having a party at their home in Green Villas – perfect for trick-or-treating.

Emersyn had planned to enjoy Halloween with her friends, but she had no friends available. ALL her friends were in the HS Concordia Play, “Stand By Me”, or working backstage. She finished tennis season with APAC in Japan to join the backstage crew to do makeup. She was working the play every night for dress rehearsals and productions held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Ellie came home with Eleri to get ready for Halloween. They had fun doing makeup together.

Eleri was a rainbow monster – an adorable one. She found these various items at Affordable Treasures this summer to put her rainbow monster together.

Jim dressed in his pirate outfit. He also grabbed Emersyn’s gun from the wax museum to complete his costume.

I packed my witches dress and a hat. I was selling flowers before the play from 6-7pm. I didn’t have a child in the play, just a dog. Roxi was playing Chopper, the junkyard dog. Yes, they were desperate for a trained, big dog. She was the 3rd dog that “auditioned” for the part. We let her hair grow out and cut off her fluff on her head and tail so she looked more scrappy.

Roxi had her 30 seconds of fame to walk up to the stage from the back and “chase Gordy” to the fence. They had a piece of salami for her at the fence. She never gets people food so she was in a hurry to get her treat. When she was done, she sat in the car with Mr. Nie.

We stopped to get Lili on our way to Green Villas. Eleri and Lili do a double trick-or-treat together every year. Lili’s compound always celebrates Halloween on Saturday.

Jim took the girls trick-or-treating in the RAIN. Rain had been in the forecast, but it was a lovely afternoon after a morning rain. When we left for Jinqiao, it was pouring rain! I arrived at Rachael’s house about the time the trick-or-treaters were finished and wet! The girls came home with a smaller stash of candy due to the rain. Lili and Eleri added to their stash of candy on Saturday night with less rain on their second night of trick-or-treating.

It was still a fun Halloween spent with friends even with the rain.
