T’was the night of the concert and all through the square,
Not a seat was to be found, not even a broken chair.
Parent roamed through the aisles, cameras a ready,
Waiting for children who did not look too steady.
Well, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a gaggle of children without any fear.
They sprang to the stage, as the teacher gave a whistle,
Then they started to sing as sharp as a thistle.
They finished their songs and disappeared out of sight
But I heard them exclaim, “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.”
This evening was Emmy’s school Christmas concert. There were performances from the kindergarten through second grade classes. The auditorium was packed – not a seat to be had. There were roaming paparazzi parents have to be reminded to sit and not block others views.

Prior to the concert, Emmy and her friend Kate got ready, having a “holly and ivy” wreath placed on their heads.Â
