Christmas morning – the anticipation of waiting for Santa. The girls were up early at 6am. They had fun waking everyone up for Christmas morning presents. The girls running down the stairs is my favorite part. I love the expressions on their faces.
Santa filled their stockings with underwear and tights (always needed), a new camelbak water bottle, a nail kit, a hand bag, jewelry, book markers, the new apple ear buds and chocolate, of course. The stockings were lying on top of a pile of books. Eleri had asked Santa for the Spa kit for Christmas and Emersyn wanted the Rush Hour game. Eleri’s letter to Santa was really cute giving Santa the number he could call to order the Spa kit if he didn’t have one. Eleri also found 10 little rubber ducks in her stocking from Santa. She has a rubber duck collection she plays with in the bath tub. Maybe they have been good all year!!
Empty stockings!
Emersyn gift from us was a kindle, a reading tablet. A new kindle (Paper white) was released this year that was just for reading – no bells and whistles, no games – just reading. It is almost half the price of the old kindle (Fire). Since she reads all the time, Emersyn wanted a light reading tablet to take to school. She has her ipad, but now that she is a 7th grader with a required lap top, her bag is heavy. This was perfect for her needs. Also, if she was going to lose or damage the reader, I much prefer it was the cheaper kindle.
Eleri had no idea what she wanted for Christmas from us so we gave her a very nice art set with markers, colored pencils and water colors. We added a sketch pad and some books on drawing.
The last item was a big mystery and it was heavy so they had no idea what was in the box. We gave both the girls an ezy roller. Bindi, Lili’s Mom, had said they were getting a pink one for Lili. Bindi’s girls had rode them at a friend’s house in Singapore and loved them. I did a little research on the ezy roller to descover it has received many toy awards for several years. We debated about getting Emersyn one as she is becoming a teen! However, we knew the girls would have fun riding them together in the Gardens.
The sun was up by the time we finished opening gifts. We put the ezy rollers together for the girls to ride around the kitchen. The fun of Christmas morning is playing with all the new items.
We showered and dressed for brunch at Nancy and Ernie’s. Both girls put on their new clothes from Christmas, including their new tights (however, Jim did not take a full length photo).
We went to Nancy’s to enjoy the delicious brunch she puts together every year. My favorite food at brunch is the french toast while the girls love Nancy’s bacon. Christmas spent with family – always so blessed to share the time together.
