Grandpa wanted to have a garage sale. He is cleaning out and wants to get rid of “stuff”. Eleri went through the toys in the basement to add to the sale – always good to clean out!

Eleri also went through the stuff Grandpa had in the boxes for the sale. Grandpa had a garage sale last summer and boxed things that did not sell to go back out this summer. Eleri found our Easy Bake Oven from when we were kids. Grandpa tried to sell it last summer for $2 – no takers. Eleri decided the oven needed to come off the garage sale. She baked with the oven for days. Anything Grandma was baking or making, she wanted to make it in her over!

Grandma and girls make cookies to sell at the garage sale. Emersyn and Grandma used the real oven and Eleri made one cookie at a time in her over!

The girls made very nice signs to post down at the main road through town….no photo! Grandpa set everything up first thing in the morning. The girls and I got up to make homemade lemonade as people were stopping by at 7am! I didn’t get a photo of the sale as I didn’t think about it until the day was over. The girls had a table set up to handle the cash. Emersyn did most of the cash change which was good experience for her. They sold all day selling the items, cookies and lemonade.

Grandpa said Emersyn and Eleri could have all the profits from the day. Not sure that was going to add up to much as Grandpa wanted things gone and they were priced to sell! He had tools for 10 cents! However, he was also selling a set of tires and his parts pick-up. He had an old pick-up behind the garage he used for parts. Someone bought it for $450 – score! He sold the tires for $100 – score! The girls made $660 for their day at the garage sale…lucky selling the big ticket items. The girls were all smiles once they realized that each one just made $330! The girls now love garage sales!
