With no improvement in Emersyn’s bone cyst in the past year, her doctor wanted to squeezed in two procedure before we went back to Shanghai. He was able to squeeze one in before we left for Chicago. It is hard to work with in our summer schedule!

On the morning of her surgery procedure, Jim was leaving for Toledo for work. Nancy drove Jim to the airport, Eleri went across the street to Karla’s house to play with Izzy. I took Emersyn to the Surgery Center. Everyone at the Surgery Center is so nice. She had the same nurses and doctors, therefore, she wouldn’t need an iv based on last summer’s experience.

The time I am at the Surgery Center is about five hours. When her doctor came to talk to me about the procedure, he did not have good news. The bone cyst had changed with one of the three cavities filling with tissue. He wanted to do the bone operation he was trying to avoid. We were leaving for Chicago tomorrow so I will need to do some plan changes to squeeze this surgery in before we leave for Shanghai.
