Every month the Elementary students have chapel. Each chapel is led by a class. Today, chapel was led by Ms Johnson’s Grade 2 class (Eleri’s) and Ms Shepard’s Grade 1 class. Eleri has been practicing all week. The skit was about the 12 disciples.

The first song the children sang was “There were Twelve Disciples”. This song is short, but was harder to memorize as Eleri had to know all the disciples names.

Eleri had a speaking part. She did very well as we talk about speaking slowly.

She said very clear and slowly: We show that we are disciples of Jesus by using kind words to everyone. I know this can be hard especially when we are angry or upset.

As she was saying her lines, this image was on the overhead projector.

The last song the children sang was “I will Follow Him”. This is the song from Sister Act.

Of course, the song was sung with actions.

At the end, Eleri was all smiles.

Jim was able to attend chapel. Now, with his office ten minutes from school, it is easier for him to make school functions.
