The annual Children’s Christmas Party with the expat association, SEA (Shanghai Expat Association) is full of crafts and fun for the kids. Emersyn said no to going this year. Therefore, Jennifer and I took Eleri and Sophie – they still love to make “stuff”.

The event is held at the Four Seasons Hotel. We took a few photos of the girls in front of the Hotel’s Christmas tree.

The Children’s party includes lunch of children’s food – chicken fingers, french fries and pasta! The adults do leave a bit hungry. Sophie and Eleri had fun at the various craft stations. There were stations for bead making, puppet making, ornament making and face painting. The girls made them all. In addition, each child leaves with a small gift from Santa.

Every child receives a kit to make a gingerbread house. We have learned from experience to take the kit home. When we got home, Sophie came up to make houses together. Emersyn was ready to help.

There is always the joy of eating the frosting and candy.

The kits don’t even compare to Aunt Nancy’s homemade houses. Everyone miss the fun of making with Nancy. I missed my hot tamales Nancy ALWAYS has for me to eat – more go in my tummy than on the houses!!
