Friday was a no school day and a perfect day for birthdays.

For Erin’s 8th birthday, she invited her 3rd grade friends and Eleri to a pottery party. It was very sweet of her to include Eleri. Eleri plays with Erin (Kelly’s little sister), Sophie (Sean’s little sister) and Riley (Avery’s little sister). […]

Lili, Eleri’s best freind, was over for a sleepover. Now that Lili and Elle are no longer in the same school, we are making special play dates for these two peas in a pod. They have so much fun together.

For the first time, both girls are going to the same school – Concordia American International School. There were many family discussions about moving Eleri from Dulwich, a British school. Elle wanted to stay with her best friend, Lili. In the end, it made sense to move her this year to Concordia, as she […]

Each summer, we celebrate both of the girls’ birthdays with the family. It is always close to Eleri’s birthday which is close to the time we leave after our summer holidays at home. It is always a nice family gathering to celebrate the summer, the birthdays and family. It was extra special to enjoy […]

With Emersyn off to camp for two weeks, Elle was an only child for the first time. After we dropped Emmy off, we did our Sunday routine of the Farmers Market, lunch and the candy store, Powells. Oh, and always a quick stop in the Apple store in town. The “we” during the summer […]

Another evening trip to the lake with Grandpa. This time Emersyn caught her FIRST fish. She was thrilled as Elle had been the lucky one in the past.

Oh, and lucky Elle caught another fish!

Of course, Grandpa is the one that takes the fish off the hook […]

When Terri goes to South Dakota with Andy and his family, we meet at Fort Robinson to pick her up. The Fort is about half way between Rapid City and Mitchell. In the past, we have had lunch and left. This year, we signed up for the horse trail rides. It is a 45 […]

Estes Park is a 3.5 hour drive from Mitchell. If Grandpa had his way, he would have us on the road at 5am “to beat the traffic”. Not sure what traffic Grandpa is referring to in Nebraska! We talked him into 7am. After being out late for the 4th of July, 7am was plenty […]

Good thing Grandpa loves garage sales. He always keeps his eye out for bikes and such for the girls. Actually, I am sure it is really Grandma that keeps her eyes open AND makes Grandpa buy it. Grandpa hates the clutter in his clean garage. This year, Emmy was able to ride the bigger […]

Grandpa’s blow torch has many summer uses. Not only does it easily light all the fireworks, it also toasts the marshmallows for smores! Smores are a real treat for the girls since a box of graham crackers costs $12 in Shanghai. We had a nightly treat of smores. The girls were the toast masters!
